Helping Your Child’s Budding Smile
Your little one’s smile is one of the most joyous sights you’ve ever seen. In order to ensure their grin stays healthy and bright as they grow up, it’s important that they get the comprehensive dental care they need from an early age.
Why Choose Classic Dental Care for Children’s Dentistry?
Compassionate Approach
Dr. Stevenson and Dr. Williams offer a gentle, compassionate approach that helps kids feel completely comfortable.
Accommodations
We provide accommodations for children with special needs, including sedation options for anxious patients.
Focus
From sealants to fluoride treatments, we focus on preventing problems before they start.
Your Child’s First Dental Visit
Even if your little one doesn’t have any teeth yet, we encourage you to bring them in for their first visit soon after their first birthday. However, if their teeth start erupting before then, we recommend that you schedule an appointment with us right away.
Teeth can begin to develop cavities as soon as they emerge, and we want to prevent that. During this visit, our goal is to make them feel comfortable as well as to educate you on how to care for their smiles in between appointments.

Dental Sealants & Silver Diamine Fluoride
The back teeth contain grooves into which food particles can get stuck and attract cavity-causing bacteria. We can help prevent decay in these teeth with dental sealants. By applying a thin layer of composite resin to your child’s molars, the grooves are sealed from bacteria. This protection can last for up to a decade!
Also known as “nature’s cavity fighter,” silver diamine fluoride strengthens tooth enamel, reducing the risk of cavities. We can quickly and painlessly paint a topical gel onto your child’s teeth during their checkup to keep their teeth strong and cavity-free until their next visit!
Athletic Mouthguards/ Sportsguards
Exercise is wonderful for children, but we don’t want it to put their smiles at risk! If they participate in a high-contact sport, such as football, hockey, or basketball, they need to wear a mouthguard to protect their pearly whites from injury.
Our office can create a durable yet comfortable plastic tray to perfectly fit over your child’s teeth, delivering significantly greater protection than over-the-counter options.

Special Needs Dentistry & Non-Nutritive Habits
We believe that dentistry for kids should include all children, including those with special needs. If your young one has mental or physical impairments that make dental care difficult, our team is happy and well-qualified to help. We highly suggest letting us know about their condition ahead of time so we can prepare the ideal accommodations.
Does your child have habits like thumb-sucking? While these are a normal part of development, they can damage your little one’s future smile if they persist past the age of four. Our team can help your child break this habit before it negatively impacts their budding smile.
